CEC: Deadline for observer accreditation for new local elections expires on 9 November

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has announced that 9 November 2025 is the deadline for submitting accreditation applications for observers who will monitor the new local elections on 16 November.

According to CEC, civic associations and non-governmental organizations from the Republic of Moldova or abroad can request accreditation only if their statutes or internal documents provide for the conduct of election observation missions, the promotion of human rights, democratic values, or participatory democracy. Additionally, these entities must have a permanent governing body, authorized representatives, and functional mechanisms for communication with them.

The Central Electoral Commission has five days to review the submitted files and issue decisions regarding the accreditation of observers.

On 16 November, new local elections will be held in the following localities: the village of Bașcalia, Basarabeasca district; the commune of Călinești, Fălești district; the commune of Natalievca, Fălești district; the village of Ustia, Glodeni district; the city of Leova, Leova district; the commune of Cremenciug, Soroca district.
