Speaker Igor Grosu delivered a congratulatory message this evening on the occasion of Christmas. The official urged citizens "to open their doors wide and let the groups of carolers announce the birth of the Lord, to light up the houses and souls".
The Speaker emphasized that Christmas is that time of year when we have the beautiful opportunity "to create unforgettable memories with our families and with those we love and have by our side."
"Dear friends, wherever this magical and holy holiday - the celebration of Christmas - finds you, I urge you to be grateful for life, for health, and for the loved ones around us. Christmas is the time when we remember that making someone happy is so simple. Sometimes it's enough to say with love - Merry Christmas," stated Igor Grosu.
The official also called on citizens for unity and urged them to be kinder.
"Let's reflect together on the values that unite us, make us stronger, keep us together, and define us as a nation. Let us open our doors wide and let the groups of carolers announce the birth of the Lord, to illuminate our houses and souls. May this Christmas guide us and make us better, more empathetic, and more united. Merry Christmas wherever you may be!" added Igor Grosu.
On December 25th, many Christians in the Republic of Moldova celebrate the birth of the Lord in the new style. To allow everyone to celebrate with family, December 25th has been declared an official holiday.
