Rescuers, firefighters respond in more Moldovan settlements following rainfall on 18 July morning

Rescuers and firefighters today morning intervened to assist citizens and manage situations caused by unfriendly weather conditions.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), in the municipality of Chisinau, firefighters had to intervene on Calea Ieșilor street, where a car with two people inside got stuck on a flooded section of the road. A rescue team was dispatched to the scene to perform vehicle unlocking and towing operations.

Also in the capital, firefighters were requested on Aerodromului Street no. 6, where, due to strong winds, a tree fell and dangerously hung over electrical wires. The IGSU team dispatched to the scene intervened to trim and remove it.

At the same time, firefighters intervened in the Hancesti district, at the entrance to the village of Mereseni, to clear a tree knocked down by the wind.

Also, a rescue team was sent to the village of Drasliceni, Criuleni district, to tow a car with two people that got stuck on a muddy road.

According to information from power suppliers, as of 06:00, two localities in the Anenii Noi district, Delacau and Puhaceni, have been without electricity supply.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations continues to monitor the situation across the country. Rescuers urge citizens to avoid traveling to areas affected by floods or impassable roads, to follow authorities' recommendations, and to call Service 112, in case of emergency.
