Moldovan head of state visits native village, discusses ongoing development projects with citizens

President Maia Sandu today visited the settlements of Risipeni and Scumpia in the Falesti district, returning to her native village to discuss ongoing development projects directly with citizens.

In Risipeni, the head of state talked with locals about how the 1.9 million lei from the Reinhard Mohn prize, donated by the president to the community, will be used. The funds will be directed towards three essential initiatives: building a photovoltaic park, modernizing the school cafeteria and repairing the church roof.

Also in Risipeni, through the government's European Village programme, the water network is being expanded and renovation works are underway for the cultural center in the neighboring village of Scumpia.

“With each project, Moldova not only recovers decades of non-investment in rural areas, but also moves closer to European standards,” emphasized President Maia Sandu.
