USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" to organize SimOlympic simulation Olympiad
Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) will organize the 7th edition of SimOlympic university simulation Olympiad. The event will take place on May 6 at the Medical Simulation Training Center (CUSIM), 31 August 1989 Street, no. 137A, in Chișinău, between 14:00 and 18:00.
SimOlympic is a competition dedicated to students enrolled in the Medicine study program, where they can demonstrate the application of their knowledge and skills in managing simulated clinical cases inspired by real-life situations.
This year’s edition will be held within the international congress MedEspera-2026 and focuses on developing professional autonomy, initiative, and individual responsibility in learning process.
Each team will have a common medical dress code and will present a promo video of up to two minutes, screened during the opening ceremony. The teams consist of 4–5 students who will manage the simulated clinical scenarios, demonstrating their ability to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate in teamwork.
The evaluation will be carried out by a jury made up of specialists in the field, who will assess the participants’ performance based on communication, teamwork and case management criteria.
The competition will take place in several stages: preselection, semifinal and final. The proposed scenarios will address clinical situations from various medical fields and will be implemented using high-fidelity simulators available at CUSIM, as well as standardized patients.
As a result, the two teams with the best performances will compete for the title of winner of the 2026 edition in a public final, based on a clinical scenario of increased complexity.
