European Parliament member says Moldova continues to take concrete steps towards EU accession, political support for this goal stays strong

Moldova continues to advance on the path of European integration and political support for its accession to the European Union stay solid, MEP Siegfried Muresan has said.

The statement was made ahead of the 17th meeting of the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee, held in Brussels at the beginning of this week.

According to Siegfried Muresan, the participants in the meeting are considering the next steps in Moldova’s European course, including the negotiation chapters and the support needed to advance the accession process.

The European official emphasized that Moldova was making concrete progress in its relations with the European Union and that political support for this strategic objective remained strong.

The Moldova–European Union Parliamentary Association Committee is the parliamentary forum established under the EU–Moldova Association Agreement. It is made up of members appointed by the parliament of Moldova and the European Parliament, who meet twice a year, alternately in Chisinau and Brussels.
