WEATHER // Yellow Code of heavy rainfall across Moldova; authorities urge caution
Chisinau, October 7 /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) maintains the Yellow Code of prolonged rainfall for October 8.
According to meteorologists, on the period from October 7th (9:00 PM) to October 8th (9:00 PM), rain will persist all over Moldova, heavy in some regions.
The wind will blow moderately from the north, with intensifications up to 12 m/s, and air temperatures will range between +7 and +12°C at night and +10…+15°C during the day.
SHS announces that abundant rain will be expected over extended areas, with water quantities of up to 49 l/m², and isolated accumulations of up to 90 l/m².
In the context of unfriendly weather conditions, the Chisinau city hall recommends that residents use public transportation instead of personal vehicles, in order to avoid traffic congestion. At the same time, drivers are urged not to park on street edges, sidewalks or under old trees, to prevent potential incidents and allow for the prompt intervention of specialized equipment, if necessary.
The State Hydrometeorological Service recommends that citizens follow weather updates on the official website www.meteo.md.
