Traffic of heavy vehicles, passenger transport suspended at all border crossing points of Moldova

The traffic of heavy vehicles and passenger transport has been suspended at all state border crossing points, both for entering and leaving the country.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the measure will remain in force until weather conditions improve.

The National Roads’ Administration also announced today evening that, due to adverse weather conditions, the authorities had introduced traffic restrictions across the entire territory of the country for heavy transport until February 19 at 06:00. The measures were taken to prevent road accidents and to allow specialized services to intervene efficiently.

In the difficult weather conditions, the authorities recommend that drivers avoid travelling unless strictly necessary, exercise increased caution in traffic, and adjust their speed to road conditions. People are also urged to follow official sources, in order to stay informed about the current state of the roads and any restrictions in place.
