Joint Moldova–Ukraine operation in attempted liquidation case targeting officials
Officers from the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and criminal investigation officers of the National Investigation Inspectorate, together with prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases and with the support of officers from the Special Purpose Police Brigade “Fulger”, along with their counterparts from Ukraine are carrying out criminal investigation actions this morning in a particularly serious case.
According to the police, the interventions began at 06:00 and are taking place within a joint investigation team with representatives of law enforcement bodies from Ukraine.
According to preliminary information, the investigation concerns the preparation of the physical liquidation of several public figures in Ukraine. The criminal activities are believed to have been coordinated by Russian special services.
The authorities have not yet provided further details, specifying that additional information will be communicated after the completion of the procedural actions.
