Young people to be able to study jobs of beekeeper remotely
Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/- Vocational schools in Bubuieci commune (Chisinau municipality) and Nisporeni started digitizing the curriculum for the Beekeeper and Bacifer Cultivator-Processor jobs to facilitate students' access to educational programs in the case of remote learning, imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
The digital transformation of the curriculum takes place within a partnership between vocational schools and the USAID High-Value Agriculture project in Moldova. Within the same partnership, equipment for the management of the digital curriculum and 22 tablets were purchased, which will be offered on loan to students from disadvantaged families, and with good academic results, who do not have the necessary technique to participate in online education.
Thus, both the course materials and the practical activities will be digitized by producing educational-demonstration videos, which will be placed on the platform for online studies. Currently, SP Bubuieci and SP Nisporeni are the only vocational education institutions in Moldova that have programs to study the trades of Beekeepers.
According to official data, about 434,000 students from all academic institutions at all levels were forced to stay home to impose pandemic restrictions in the 2020-2021 school year, and schools were allowed to provide remote learning opportunities. However, according to official estimates, remote learning has proved to be a difficult task for 16,000 students (4.8% of the total) and 3,000 teachers (10.6% of the total) who do not have access to technology (laptop , tablet or internet access). The most severely affected by the closure of the school were children from disadvantaged families.
