
Another medal for Moldova at European Championships in Bratislava
Greco-Roman wrestler Victor Ciobanu won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Bratislava.
The athlete from the Republic of Moldova secured two victories in the 60 kg weight category against Bulgarian Nedyalko Petrov and Georgian Amiran Shavadze. Victor Ciobanu was defeated in the semifinals by Azerbaijani Nihat Mammadli (world champion in 2024).
The medal won by Victor Ciobanu is the sixth achieved by our country at the European Wrestling Championships for seniors.
Irina Rîngaci won the silver medal in the 65 kg category, while Mariana Drăguțan claimed bronze at 55 kg. Three other bronze medals were won by wrestlers Artiom Deleanu (55 kg), Vitalie Eriomenco (63 kg) and Alexandru Solovei (77 kg).
