
World football legend, Ballon d'Or winner, Hristo Stoichkov comes to Moldova
A world football legend, Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov will visit Moldova. The former Barcelona star of the1990s and winner of the 'Ballon d'Or' comes to Chisinau as an official Ambassador for the FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) programme.
The former world football legend will be in Moldova on April 15-17, 2025. He has a string of activities scheduled, aimed at promoting education through football in schools.
On April 15, the Bulgarian will give a news conference at the Moldovan Football Federation's (FMF) headquarters, and on April 16, he will attend the inauguration of a football field in Sangera, Chisinau municipality. On April 17, Hristo Stoichkov will visit the Taraclia district, which has a compact population of Bulgarians. In Taraclia, an agreement will on the construction of a new sports base will be signed.
Stoichkov's visit, organized by FIFA in partnership with FMF, is part of a larger global initiative, which aims to bring football closer to children, teachers and communities worldwide. The agenda includes visits to schools, demonstration activities on football fields, inauguration of sports infrastructure and official meetings with public authorities.
FIFA Football for Schools is a global project that has already reached over 100 countries, providing educational resources and materials, in order to make football an active part of the learning process.
