
Moldovan football team relegated to group D of League of Nations
Chisinau, March 30 / MOLDPRES/- Moldova's national football team lost 5 to 4 to Kazakhstan's national team and relegated to League D of the League of Nations.
The national football team of the Republic of Moldova opened the score in min. 13 minutes into the game, a swerving free kick by Igor Armaș almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the shot glanced harmlessly off the frame of the goal.
In the tour match, the Kazakh team won with the score of 2-1 and the overall score became 2-2, which led to the dictation of two rounds of extra time. The fate of the match was decided by the penalty kicks. At the score 4-4, the Moldovan player Ioan-Călin Revenco sent the ball near the goal and the Kazakh players scored the fifth goal.
At the press conference that took place after the match, the national team coach of the Republic of Moldova, Serghei Cleșcenco was disappointed with the performance of his players. "It simply came to our notice then. We are all disappointed. We had to score a goal and we scored. However, we could not increase the advantage, we reached the tiebreaks and we were not lucky ", he said.
In League D of the League of Nations, edition 2022/23, the national team of the Republic of Moldova will play in a group with Liechtenstein, Andorra and Latvia. The national football team will play the next match on June 3, away, with the national team from Liechtenstein.
