
Moldovan wrestler wins bronze at World Championships in Zagreb
A wrestler from Moldova, Irina Rîngaci, has won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Zagreb.
According to the National Olympic and Sports Committee, before stepping onto the podium, Irina Rîngaci defeated a two-time Olympic medalist. She overcame Ukrainian Iryna Koliadenko, who won silver at the Paris Olympics and bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.
In Zagreb, Irina also defeated Aylah Mayali and Kadriye Kocak (Turkey), but was defeated in the semifinals by the future world champion, Japanese Miwa Morikawa.
Irina Rîngaci was the world champion in 2021, and in the 2022 and 2023 editions, she won bronze.
