
Serghei Tarnovschi wins silver medal at Canoe Marathon World Championships
Moldovan canoeist Serghei Tarnovschi won the silver medal at Canoe Marathon World Championships held in the city of Gyor, Hungary. Our athlete completed the 3.6 km race with a time of 15:42:30, securing the second place on the podium.
Tarnovschi was only 19.43 seconds behind Spanish canoeist Jame Duro, whom he had defeated 11 days earlier in the 5,000-meter race at the Canoe Sprint World Championships. The podium was completed by Hungarian Balazs Adolf.
This performance comes less than two weeks after the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, Italy, where Serghei Tarnovschi won a gold and a bronze medal, solidifying his status as Moldova's top athlete.
The national team's participation in the Canoe Marathon World Championships was made possible by financial support from the Ministry of Education and Research.
