The documentary performance, People Who Disappear, directed by Luminita Tacu, is dedicated to Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, one of the strongest voices in investigative journalism in the post-Soviet space. The production follows the fate of a woman who chose to tell the truth about the war in Chechnya, about the abuses and the suffering of people affected by the conflict, despite constant threats and pressure. The performance combines documentary elements, testimonies and reflections on freedom of expression, the responsibility of journalists and the courage to confront oppressive systems. The leading role is played by actress Olga Gutu Triboi, with set design by Irina Gurin. The premiere will take place on May 12, 13, and 19 at the Valeriu Cupcea Hall of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre.
