The families of the police officers who died in Sîngerei will receive financial assistance of 1 million lei each, allocated from the Government’s Reserve Fund. The decision was approved today by the Cabinet.

“Two young police officers lost their lives while carrying out their duty, serving the citizens and ensuring public safety. It is a great loss for their families, for their colleagues at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and for society as a whole. On behalf of the Government, I extend sincere condolences to the grieving families and to all those who knew them,” Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu said.

On June 23, Mihail Chiriac and Nicolae Dragan were struck and killed by a car while documenting a misdemeanor. The officers were on the roadside at the time of the impact, outside their service vehicle, which was parked in accordance with regulations with its warning lights on. The incident occurred on the R-6 road, in the village of Grigorăuca, Sîngerei district.
