Moldova to attend Ukraine reconstruction conference

The Republic of Moldova will take part in Ukraine reconstruction conference. Our country will be represented by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, who will pay a visit to Gdańsk, Poland.

“In the coming days, the Republic of Moldova will participate in Ukraine Reconstruction Conference. Today I am leaving for Gdańsk, for one day, to take part in the discussions. For us, the reconstruction of Ukraine means the development of regional infrastructure, the strengthening of trade corridors, and the creation of new economic opportunities in the region,” said Munteanu at the beginning of today’s Government meeting.

In this context, Munteanu announced that the construction project for the bridge over the Dniester River between Cosăuți and Yampil is entering the design phase, this being a strategic project for both states.

“Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea held discussions with the Ukrainian side on relaunching the Cosăuți (Republic of Moldova) – Yampil (Ukraine) bridge project – a strategic project for both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine; we are entering the design phase. Next week the technical teams will travel to the site to evaluate and analyze the technical options for starting this project. While the war has destroyed roads, bridges, and links between people, we are already trying to build new connections, new opportunities, and development prospects,” concluded Munteanu.

The Cosăuți–Yampil cross-border bridge is a planned project over the Nistru River that is intended to create a new road link between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The bridge will connect the national road R14.1 R14 – Cosăuți – border with Ukraine to the Ukrainian route T-02-02 Mohyliv-Podilskyi – Yampil – Kryzopil – Bershad – Uman. The construction is planned to have a length of over 1.4 kilometers, two traffic lanes, and pedestrian sidewalks.
