Government launches Moldova Prepared Program to train citizens to cope with crisis situations

The Government will launch the first edition of Moldova Prepared program in November 2026, aimed at helping citizens prepare for crisis situations. The initiative will be permanent and will include annual themed editions, Government spokesperson Dumitru Ciorici announced.

The program is currently being prepared and will be coordinated by the National Crisis Management Center. Its purpose is to strengthen the resilience of households and communities so that people know how to act during the first hours of an emergency.

The first edition will be held under the theme “The First 72 Hours” and will include a family guide, a checklist, a family plan, and an information kit.

According to the authorities, the initiative comes amid the crises of recent years, including the pandemic, the refugee crisis, difficulties in the energy sector, and hybrid threats. In this context, the state aims to move from crisis management to developing a national culture of preparedness, following the model practiced in Scandinavian countries.

The program seeks to provide citizens and the business community with the information necessary to respond during the first hours of a crisis, whether it involves a public health emergency, an energy-related situation, or other types of threats.
