Chisinau, January 25 / MOLDPRES /- In Mereni village, Anenii Noi district, the set of furniture provided for the endowment of the Tourist Information Center was installed. This is one of the results of the project MuseumInfoTur - Enhancing visibility of cultural and historical heritage within cross-border network of museums - Tourist Information Centers.

The project envisages increasing the visibility of the cross-border cultural and historical heritage of the Central Region of the Republic of Moldova and Galati County in Romania, by strengthening the capacities of cultural institutions and creating a network of Tourist Information Centers in major destinations.

"The general idea is to equip museums with a new functionality - to inform visitors and tourists about the attractions in the representative destinations of the region they belong to. And the activity within a network of such museums-infotourism centers would feed each of the participating museum institutions with an additional number of visitors. At the same time, this period of lack of mobility is a respite for re-conceptualizing museums for opening doors in the post-pandemic period with new tourist offers, new capabilities and good news about the most attractive places in the region ", according to the Regional Development Agency ( ADR) Center.

We are currently working on equipping Tourist Information Centers with furniture and information panels, creating a profile of major tourist destinations in the project area, to determine several common tourist routes and at the same time to establish excursion programs. Also, a common brand is being developed and promoted, as well as a Guide to the destinations of cross-border cultural tourism in Moldova (Republic of Moldova - Romania).

The implementation period of the MuseumInfoTur cross-border project is April 14, 2020 - May 13, 2022. The project is carried out by ADR Center, in partnership with the Association for Tourism Development in Moldova (Moldova) and the Cross-Border Cooperation Association Lower Danube Euroregion (Romania), funded by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and co-financed by the project beneficiaries.
