Moldova on Netflix: documentary 'Flavours of Moldova' to premiere on September 24

Moldova is coming to screens worldwide. On September 24, the streaming service Netflix will premiere the documentary, Flavours of Moldova, a production signed by Charlie Ottley, which highlights the beauty, traditions and people of Moldova.

The production, made up of three episodes, showcases local wines and gastronomy, picturesque landscapes, traditional villages, vibrant culture and the people who give soul to Moldova. The documentary provides a captivating visual journey into the country’s national identity, conceived as a genuine platform for cultural and tourism promotion.

"This wonderful project combines cinematography with the authentic essence of our country – gastronomy, wines, traditions and the people who keep Moldova's values alive. It is a unique chance for Moldova's voice and beauty to reach millions of homes around the world on Netflix. Our culture is not just heritage and tradition. Culture is a living story; it is what unites us and represents us in the world. Projects like this prove that art can build stronger bridges than politics or economics," said Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Andrei Chistol, who is one of the protagonists of the documentary, emphasized that the documentary was "a global platform for promoting Moldova's cultural and tourism potential, bringing our image into millions of homes worldwide".
Flavours of Moldova will be available on Netflix starting from September 24, providing a unique opportunity for an international audience to discover the authenticity and cultural diversity of Moldova.

The project's initiator, Diana Lazăr, advisor to the economy minister, said that the film would highlight not only cultural heritage, but also local entrepreneurs.

"Everything Moldova has to offer, tastier, more beautiful, dearer to us, and what we can provide our guests can be found in these three episodes. We want it to become a promotional tool for small entrepreneurs, those who create jobs in Moldova, who invest," said Diana Lazăr.

The British director and producer, Charlie Ottley, showed interest in Moldova and its wonderful places and thus the documentary project began. Filming took place in Moldova's wineries and vineyards, in villages, at festivals, all over the country, from north to south, as the initiator of the project, Flavours of Moldova, tells us.
