Parliament speaker says Moldova should take care for Eugen Doga's music to never die

Farewell, Master Eugen Doga. Today we say goodbye to a music genius, a symbol of national culture, a man who has managed to transform sound into pure emotion. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has conveyed a message to this effect, following the death of the great composer.

The speaker emphasized that the music of the great composer had marked generations, accompanied important moments in the Moldovans’ lives and had become part of their identity.

"Thank you, master, for showing us through music the beauty of life, the beauty of our homeland, and for promoting Moldova's fame worldwide, with dignity and grace. We should care that the music of Eugen Doga never dies," said Igor Grosu.

At the same time, President Maia Sandu today announced that the day of Master Eugen Doga's funeral would be declared a national day of mourning.

Master Eugen Doga, one of the most appreciated and beloved composers of Moldova and the European cultural space, passed away at the age of 88 today.

His music has captivated millions of listeners and has accompanied major international cultural events. Until his last years of life, Eugen Doga took part in meetings with students, spoke about the beauty of music and encouraged young people to pursue their artistic dreams.
