A total of 945 citizens of Moldova have registered to vote by mail at the parliamentary election due on September 28. Applications to this end can still be submitted until August 14.

"There are exactly 15 days left to register for postal voting. Our citizens from the United States, Canada, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Australia, or New Zealand can apply for postal voting for the parliamentary election, but only if they notify us by August 14. In other words, there are a limited number of days left, 15 days, more specifically," the spokesperson for the government, Daniel Voda, said today.

According to him, so far, 945 people have registered for postal voting, most of whom are in the United States and Canada. More exactly, there are 500 registrations in the U.S., over 280 people in Canada, 60 in Sweden and 30 in Norway.

The registration process is conducted online via the official website http://alegator.md, administered by the Central Election Commission, or at https://inregistrare.cec.md.

A voter willing to register for postal voting must fill in an online form, specifying: the full postal address where the voting materials should be sent; contact information – email address and phone number; a photo showing the applicant's face and identification document confirming the right to vote; the passport of the citizen of Moldova (even if expired), or the Moldovan ID card.

On September 28 this year, parliamentary elections will take place in Moldova.
