Thirtieth anniversary of establishment of Moldovan-Slovakian diplomatic relations marked in Chisinau
Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of photos, occasioned by the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Slovakia and Moldova, and the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Slovakia, was inaugurated at the National History Museum of Moldova today.
The exhibition presents the main chapters and events of the bilateral relations between Slovakia and Moldova, the long-lasting friendship and the fruitful cooperation between the two states.
In his speech, Slovakia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Pavol Ivan said that the exhibition comprised 23 panels; the first part of the exhibition shows those three decades of bilateral relations, of mutual friendships and successful cooperation between the two countries.
According to the official, in the last 30 years, Slovakia and Moldova have edified strong relations and regular political, economic, commercial dialogue, cooperation for development, cultural and university exchanges; at the same time, some of the official and working visits were paid at the level of presidents, prime ministers and foreign affairs ministers. The exhibition includes several unique photos, which prove the strong and long-lasting relation between Slovakia and Moldova. It shows a chronology of the history of the bilateral relations, including the key events, official visits and development projects, as well as other related activities. Visitors will be able to learn about historical events which modeled the relation between the two countries, including the signing of the first bilateral agreements and about the setting up of Slovakia’s Embassy in Chisinau.
At the same time, the diplomat noted that an integrant part of the photo exhibition represented the panels showing the success story of Slovakia (1993-2023), which marks the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Slovakian state. They are focused on the rich history and the cultural heritage of the country, as well as on its achievements in the political, economic and social development in the last three decades, including on the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration. The exhibition displays a string of photographs which provides visitors an outlook on the nation’s journey following the division of the former Czechoslovakia to its current status of independent, prosperous and responsible nation – Slovakian Republic.
Attending the event, the state secretary at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Vladimir Cuc, highly appreciated the diplomatic relations between the two countries, which had witnessed a deep development in those 30 years.
The diplomatic relations between Slovakia and Moldova were established starting from 16 February 1993. The 30th anniversary of Slovakia was marked on 1 January 2023. .
The exhibition will be opened till 6 April.
