President to attend European Political Community Summit in Copenhagen
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu will participate in the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, organized in Copenhagen on 1-2 October. Denmark currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The head of state will deliver a speech at the opening session of the meeting and, throughout the summit, will hold bilateral and multilateral discussions with European leaders, heads of state and government.
The main topics of discussion will be progress of Moldova's accession to the European Union following the strong mandate received from citizens in the 28 September elections, the country's economic development, as well as regional peace and security.
The European Political Community was launched at the initiative of President of France Emmanuel Macron, as a platform for political dialogue on peace and security on the continent, as well as cooperation between EU member states and those outside the community space. The inaugural EPC summit took place in Prague in October 2022, and the second edition was hosted by Moldova in Bulboaca in June 2023.
