National Wine Day held on 4-5 October in PMAN

Over 100 local wine producers will participate in the 24th edition of National Wine Day, which will be organized on October 4 and 5 in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN).

The event is designed to offer a complete experience, from tastings and direct dialogues with winemakers to activities that highlight local gastronomy and culture.

Thus event guests will be able to discover over 100 winemakers showcasing limited editions of renowned wines. Additionally, a wine school and masterclasses led by certified sommeliers will be organized.

The event is organized by the National Office for Vine and Wine, with the support of the strategic partner Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund. The institutional partner of the celebration is the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

The Wine Festival in Moldova, later officially named National Wine Day was first held in 2002. Traditionally, the event takes place in PMAN in Chișinău and at wineries across the country on the first weekend of October, after the grape harvest.

The event celebrates the rich winemaking traditions in Moldova, dating back to the 15th century. The purpose of the event is to promote and strengthen the image of our country as a major wine state, provide support for the development of the sector, familiarize with wine products, facilitate the process of including Moldova on international wine tourism routes, attract investors and tourists, increase domestic consumption of high-quality beverages, and familiarize with customs, culture, and folk traditions.

According to statistics, over 2% of the world's vineyards are located in our country. The Republic of Moldova is among the top 20 wine-producing states, also being a significant exporter worldwide. The wine industry represents one of the key branches of our country's economy. Moldovan wines are imported by over 70 countries from different corners of the world.
