DOC // New incentives for investments in renewable energy and electricity storage
The promulgation decree and the law amending several normative acts aimed at supporting investments in renewable energy sources with storage solutions have been published in the Official Journal and have entered into force.
The document aims to accelerate the development of modern energy infrastructure and facilitate investments in electricity storage systems and renewable energy generation capacities.
According to the document, electricity storage installations will be explicitly included in the category of works that can be carried out under a simplified regime. Thus, individuals who install photovoltaic panels and/or heat pumps at single-family houses, apartment blocks or other types of buildings will no longer need a building permit for storage systems, being required only to provide the technical documentation related to the electrical installations.
At the same time, the project facilitates the placement of energy storage systems and related infrastructure in photovoltaic parks, as well as within energy, commercial, agricultural or industrial facilities. Minimum requirements are also established regarding the technical documentation necessary for these works.
The document further provides for the harmonization of the secondary regulatory framework with the legal regime applicable to the authorization of construction works, in order to eliminate ambiguities and differing interpretations of the legislation.
