Energocom reserved necessary electricity for today: Energy available on external markets remains more expensive, especially during peak hours

Energocom has fully reserved the necessary volumes of electricity to cover consumption on Monday, August 10. However, the company noted that the energy available on external markets remains more expensive, especially during peak hours, and urged consumers to save electricity.

According to Energocom, for today the company has purchased a total of 10,502 MWh of electricity. Of this volume, 28.71% comes from eligible local renewable sources, 65.45% from bilateral import contracts, 4.54% from the Romanian Day-Ahead Market via OPCOM and the Romanian Commodities Exchange (BRM), and 1.29% from combined heat and power plants (CHPs).

At the same time, the company emphasized that the regional situation remains difficult, and available energy continues to be expensive. This affects the Republic of Moldova as well, which depends on imports.

“The requirement for today is covered, but the regional situation remains difficult, and the energy available on external markets continues to be more expensive, especially during peak hours. The Republic of Moldova is part of the regional energy market and depends on imports, so when there is a deficit in the region, it also affects the quantities of energy we can procure,” Energocom said.

Under these conditions, the authorities are urging consumers to save electricity, especially between 18:00 and 23:00, to avoid waste and, where possible, to use high-consumption appliances at other times of the day.
