EVO payments remain advantageous: 10% cashback campaign extended by late 2026
The 10% cashback campaign for payments made through the EVO app has been extended until December 31, 2026, giving users the opportunity to continue receiving benefits for each payment made with Mastercard cards via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Starting July 1, 2026, the initiative enters a new stage, after being launched in September 2025 and already extended once until June 30, 2026. The decision to prolong the campaign comes amid citizens’ sustained interest in digital payments and the results achieved through the government platform EVO.
Throughout the campaign, users can benefit from 10% cashback, capped at 80 lei for each eligible transaction, for up to five payments per month. The offer is valid for paying public services directly from the app, using a Mastercard card tokenized in Apple Pay or Google Pay. Included are taxes and public services, fines and sanctions, mandatory health insurance premiums, property and land taxes, as well as more than 2,000 other services available in the Payments module of EVO. Data shows a significant increase in the use of the platform: while in the March–June 2025 period 6,237 payments were made via EVO, in the same period of 2026 their number reached 33,285, representing more than a fivefold increase.
Authorities state that the extension of the campaign reflects the shared commitment of the e-Governance Agency (AGE) and Mastercard to stimulate electronic payments, support financial inclusion, and accelerate digital transformation through faster, safer, and more accessible public services. The campaign is carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding between AGE and Mastercard and remains valid until the end of 2026, under the same conditions. In parallel, the EVO app has been updated to version EVO 2.0, which brings a modern design, extended functionalities, and more proactive services.
The main innovation is the digital identity wallet, aligned with European Union standards, which will allow secure identification and document sharing in interactions with public institutions, banks, and companies. To use the new version, the app must be updated from the App Store or Google Play, or by following the in-app notification to switch to EVO 2.0. Users who encounter difficulties can report errors directly from the app or by emailing support@egov.md.
