First diesel price cut since Middle East ceasefire: Price drops by 0.49 lei
Diesel will become cheaper on 10 April by 0.49 lei, this being the first price decrease after the announcement of the ceasefire in the Middle East, which led to a drop in Brent crude oil prices and a decline in Platts quotations for refined petroleum products.
Yesterday’s trading session, strongly influenced by the announcement of a temporary halt to hostilities in the Persian Gulf region, as well as Iran’s agreement to reopen traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, caused a significant drop in the Platts diesel quotation, the product most exposed during this period, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) announced today.
As a result, the external market price of diesel recorded a decrease of approximately 230 USD/ton on the trading day, which positively impacted the average quotations used as the basis for calculating the maximum reference prices set by ANRE.
Under these conditions, for Friday, April 10, ANRE set a maximum price of 34.49 lei per liter of diesel, a decrease of 0.49 lei. At the same time, gasoline will cost 29.83 lei, an increase of 0.01 lei.
