Parliament to analyze fuel prices at public hearings
Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will organize public hearings on April 8, 2026, at 11:30, dedicated to the situation on the fuel market. Head of the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance Radu Marian made the statement.
During the hearings, committee members will analyze the evolution of fuel prices, the mechanisms for their formation and regulation, as well as the level of competition on the market. The responsible institutions are invited to the hearings, where they will present detailed information on the current situation.
"The leadership of ANRE, the Competition Council, the Ministry of Finance and MIDR will be invited and heard," Marian said.
The agenda of the discussions also includes the volume of imports and the structure of the fuel market, petroleum product stocks and supply security, as well as the regulatory framework and any potential needs for adjustment.
In addition, the impact on consumers and the business environment will be analyzed, as well as the effects on the road transport sector, including the influence on fares and the evolution of ticket prices.
