Specialized international exhibitions Moldconstruct and Moldenergy open at Moldexpo

The latest technologies in the energy and construction are showcased at the specialized international exhibitions Moldconstruct and Moldenergy, which were inaugurated today at Moldexpo Center in the capital. The event brings together over 160 companies from the Republic of Moldova, Italy, Romania, Türkiye, and Ukraine. The exhibitions will remain open until Sunday, April 5.

Moldenergy-2026 exhibition of energy-saving technologies, thermal and gas supply installations, and air conditioning equipment is held in the central pavilion and outdoor areas of Moldexpo. Visitors can see at the stands solutions for energy independence, boilers, collectors, solar panels for thermal energy supply, as well as complete solutions for the implementation of water distribution, sewage, irrigation, and telecommunications networks.

The specialized international exhibition of technologies, equipment, tools, and materials for construction, Moldconstruct-2026, held in pavilion no. 2 and on the outdoor spaces of Moldexpo presents construction and finishing materials, roofing and flooring materials, thermal and waterproof insulation, doors and windows, roller shutters, sectional doors, metal structures and joinery for construction, wooden products, and professional paints.

A special place within the exhibitions is dedicated to presentations. Throughout the events, visitors will be able to attend and even take part in masterclasses on the use of various materials and products, as well as demonstrations of tools, machinery, technologies, and innovations for the featured sectors, held directly at the stands.

Moldexpo Center director Zinaida Popa said that the extensive program of this year’s exhibitions has turned them into exhibition congresses, adding value to the events.

“It is no longer sufficient nowadays just to present the offer. We need networking, information, and communication between central and local public authorities and civil society. Only in this way can we build together both the Republic of Moldova and the businesses in our country,” said Zinaida Popa.

Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu noted that the exhibitions host some of the leading professionals in the energy sector. According to him, the event is not just a technological showcase but also a laboratory of ideas, a place for meetings and cooperation where solutions for tomorrow are shaped.

“We are living through a turning point. Climate challenges, the energy transition, and regional conflicts compel us to rethink the models by which we operate. This fair is not just a technological showcase; it is a laboratory of ideas, a place for meetings and collaborations where solutions for tomorrow are outlined. Our sector has evolved considerably in recent years,” said Junghietu.

The official highlighted the need to attract and retain well-trained specialists in the sector. For this reason, the Ministry of Energy is organizing, as part of the exhibitions, a job fair with the participation of several companies and organizations in the energy field. They are currently looking for more than 250 candidates, with salaries ranging between 7,000 and 26,000 lei per month (depending on responsibilities). The available positions include engineers, accountants, machine operators, installers, electromechanics, economists, lawyers, and project managers.

People who wish to join the sector can attend this fair free of charge and meet company representatives to ask questions and submit their CVs.

“The objective of energy efficiency has remained and continues to be a top priority, as does retaining talented young people and attracting competent individuals into the energy sector. This fair is an invitation to action, because the energy transition will not be achieved only in meeting rooms. It will be achieved thanks to collective commitment, political will, economic investment, and, of course, the mobilization of every citizen. We have both the responsibility and the opportunity to build a sustainable energy future at home,” concluded Dorin Junghietu.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergiu Harea, emphasized that the exhibition is the best platform for dialogue, presentation, and promotion of products from the Republic of Moldova and from abroad.

“To be competitive, it is important to invest in new technologies and well-trained personnel. We, as a chamber institution, have always been at the side of the business environment throughout our 108 years of activity. At the exhibition, year after year, we see new innovations and new technologies,” said Harea.

In parallel with the two exhibitions, Smart Cities Moldova – 2026 Forum is taking place at Moldexpo. Its objectives are to advance quality of life through digital transformation, improve urban efficiency, and implement an integrated approach based on technology, sustainability, and institutional cooperation. The forum will be held over two days, Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3, serving as the highlight of the accompanying program.

In addition, during the same period, Moldexpo will host a Spring Fair, where gardening enthusiasts will be able to purchase a wide variety of plants and seeds. Entry to the exhibitions and fairs is free of charge.
