The Chisinau Electrical Substation, part of the strategic Vulcanesti–Chisinau electricity interconnection project, has entered the works acceptance procedure. The announcement was made by the consortium of companies responsible for carrying out the project during a visit to the substation by the Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and his Romanian counterpart, Luca Niculescu, according to Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu.

According to the minister, the consortium comprising Electromontaj, Siemens Energy and Energoteh announced the establishment of the acceptance commission, a stage preceding the completion of works at the substation.

Dorin Junghietu noted that completing this stage brought the project closer to the commissioning of the new electricity infrastructure.

The Vulcanesti–Chisinau interconnection is a strategic project for the energy system of Moldova. According to the minister, the infrastructure will contribute to strengthening the country's energy security and facilitate Moldova's integration into the European electricity market.
