Moldovagaz stock company transfers to Gazprom payment for natural gas provided in first half of January
Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovagaz stock company today evening informed that it had transferred to Gazprom the payment for the natural gas supplied in the first half of January 2022.
According to a press release issued by the enterprise, the transfer was worth 34.375 million dollars, which is the final installment of the 63 million dollars, which was to be paid for the concerned period.
“This was possible due to the support by Moldova’s government, including the allocation of 469 million lei as advance payment for the compensations for natural gas for the residents, postponing of the payments of the value-added tax (VAT) to the state budget and transfers to the Energocom company,’’ the communiqué reads.
The parliament today ruled to establish emergency state in the energy sector for the period of 60 days, after Gazprom had sent a letter, thereby warning the local provider that it would cease the gas delivery, if the advance payment for the current month was not paid till 20 January.
