Moldovan MPs to convene at plenary meeting on April 9; agenda includes amendments to tax, environmental, security legislation
The parliament’s standing bureau has approved the agenda of the plenary meeting due to be held on April 9, starting from 10:00. The agenda includes ten draft laws, half of which will be examined in the second reading.
Among the initiatives, there are amendments concerning short supply chains for agri-food products, topographies of semiconductor products, value-added tax and excise duties, as well as the protection of personal data. At the same time, the MPs will examine draft laws on the reform of the authorities subordinated to the Environment Ministry and on the way of technical and material support for certain institutions under the Interior Ministry.
In the first reading, the lawmakers will debate draft laws related to improving the mechanism for the voluntary amalgamation of administrative and territorial units and aligning the regulatory framework in the housing field. The agenda also includes a draft law on the prevention and combating of the illegal circulation of drugs and prohibited substances.
The parliament will also examine amendments concerning the placing on the market of plant protection products, as well as the removal of customs duties on the import of certain products from the United States. At the plenary meeting, the MPs are also to take a decision on the appointment of the president of the Plenum of the Competition Council.
The meeting will also be attended by members of the delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Moldova from the Sejm (parliament) of Poland, on a visit to Moldova.
