ANRE explains impact of Middle East ceasefire on fuel market in Moldova

Today's trading session opened with a sharp drop in Brent crude oil quotations, which are currently trading at around 94 USD/barrel, marking a decrease of about 14%. The decline comes after last night's announcement of a two-week cessation of hostilities in the Persian Gulf region, as well as Iran's agreement to reopen traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) announced today that petroleum products have not yet felt the effects of these developments, since the London Stock Exchange was already closed at the time the information about the ceasefire was released.

Thus, according to ANRE, today's quotations included in the calculation of the maximum price for gasoline and diesel fuel for tomorrow remain high, being influenced by the levels recorded in recent trading sessions, as well as by the Easter holiday period in Europe.

For tomorrow, ANRE has set a maximum price of 29.82 lei for gasoline, up by 0.13 lei. At the same time, diesel will cost 34.98 lei, up by 0.79 lei.
