DOC // Cheaper electricity: lower tariffs enter into force following publication in Moldova's Official Journal
Consumers will pay less for electricity. The reduced tariffs entered into force today, following the publication of the decisions by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) in the Official Journal.
Thus, consumers from north Moldova, served by JSC "Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord" (North Electric Energy Supply), will pay a price of 3.95 lei per kWh, which is by 0.05 lei less than at present.
At the same time, the tariff for consumers in the central and southern regions of the country, served by LLC "Premier Energy", decreases by 0.03 lei and will be 3.56 lei.
ANRE ruled to reduce the tariffs through the decisions approved on March 31, after examining the applications submitted by the two suppliers, who had requested price increases.
The last adjustment of the electricity tariff was approved by ANRE in the summer of last year, when the price of electricity dropped by up to 0.68 lei per kWh.
Presently, residents from northern Moldova pay 4 lei for 1 kWh, while the tariff for consumers in the central and southern regions of the country is 3.59 lei.
