Deputy PM in Brussels says Moldova continues to work intensively to advance on European path

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is on a working visit to Brussels, where she has met Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement. The discussions focused on Moldova's progress in implementing reforms and the next steps in the process of joining the European Union.

"We talked about the pace of reforms we are carrying out at home and the preparations for the next steps on our European agenda. We continue to work intensively to advance on our European path. The result of the recent elections clearly showed that our citizens want to see Moldova in the EU," said Cristina Gherasimov.

The deputy PM expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by the European Commission, emphasizing that a close partnership with European institutions was essential for speeding up the integration process.

At the same time, Cristina Gherasimov highlighted the Moldovan government's commitment to continue reforms in key areas, such as the rule of law, the economy, and public administration, to the direct benefit of citizens.

"We want a European Moldova not only through institutions, but also through a better life for each citizen," the official said.

The visit to Brussels is part of a string of consultations that Moldovan authorities are conducting with European partners, in the context of progressing towards the opening of accession negotiations.
