Hungary firmly supports European path of Moldova
The current reforms in the Republic of Moldova and the key stages of the accession process to the European Union were discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Hungarian Deputy Minister for European Affairs Barna Pál Zsigmond. During the meeting, the Hungarian official reaffirmed support for Moldova's European path.
The official conveyed the gratitude of the Moldovan government for the political support and expertise offered by the authorities in Budapest.
“Hungary supports the European path of the Republic of Moldova and stands by us in this process,” mentioned the Deputy Prime Minister.
Hungary firmly supports the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, providing both political and educational and economic support. Through the Stipendium Hungaricum program, 40 Moldovan students benefit from scholarships in Hungary annually. The two states have signed over 60 bilateral agreements, and in Moldova, 44 companies with Hungarian capital operate. In June 2023, new agreements on economic cooperation and consumer protection were signed. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán reaffirmed Hungary's unconditional support for Moldova's accession to the EU.
