President Maia Sandu welcomed today in Chișinău Italy's Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, who is visiting to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the rule of law. The discussions focused on the support offered by Italy for justice reform in the Republic of Moldova and on strengthening joint efforts in the fight against corruption—essential priorities for our country.
The head of state welcomed Italy's commitment to this process, emphasizing that a fair and efficient justice system is a clear expectation of the citizens, as well as an important objective assumed during the mandate.
Additionally, President Sandu highlighted the close political dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Italy, expressing gratitude for the constant support provided to the country's European path. She also thanked for the opportunities offered to Moldovan citizens settled in Italy and for the support given to the diaspora by the Italian authorities, set out in bilateral agreements on social protection and driver's license conversion.
