Moldovan deputy premier attends European Business Summit
Chisinau, Nov 23, /MOLDPRES/- Even though the Republic of Moldova is a small country, we have enormous potential. Together with the European Union, Moldova becomes stronger and more prosperous - a country where every citizen has the security of a better life. Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba made the statements, who attended European Business Summit in Brussels.
The event brought together leaders from politics, business, civil society and academia to discuss the main economic and political challenges and opportunities facing Europe and aims to create a framework for public-private dialog aimed at promoting policies that support economic development and innovation in the European Union.
"Although we are a small country, we have enormous potential. We have something to show the world! That's why we are focusing on creating a business-friendly environment: less red tape, digitized public services, low taxes, a well-paid and well-trained workforce, and support programmes for all entrepreneurs. All to boost business growth, jobs and the economy. Together with the European Union, Moldova is becoming stronger and more prosperous - a country where every citizen has the security of a better life," said Alaiba.
Alaiba had meetings with several European officials. During the meeting with Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission, they discussed Moldova's reform agenda and trade with the European Union. The officials also discussed the €1.8 billion Economic Growth Plan, money that will enable a leap towards a stronger economy and a better life for every citizen. The plan is based on strategic investments, digitization and a strong westward orientation.
Also in Brussels, the official met Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander de Croo, who expressed his sincere support for our country.
Alaiba met again with MEP Siegfried Muresan, a strong supporter of Moldova's EU accession, and later discussed with Estonian politician Sven Mikser the economic priorities for the coming period to speed up reforms and development.
