President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu today signed a decree appointing Alexandru Munteanu as candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, following consultations with parliamentary factions.
The head of state conveyed her best wishes to Munteanu in forming a government that will gain Parliament's confidence and meet citizens' expectations.
“I wish him success in forming a government that will gain Parliament's confidence and meet the citizens' most important expectations: protecting peace, preparing the country for EU accession, strengthening the economy, and raising people's living standards,” Maia Sandu declared.
This step marks the beginning of the process of forming the new Executive, which is set to go to Parliament to seek a vote of confidence.
