Average age of MPs in new Moldova's parliament 48 years

The average age of the lawmakers of the new parliament is 48 years. The youngest deputy is 26 years old and the oldest - 84 years old.

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, in the new legislature, there are 12 deputies under the age of 35, and 49 deputies are between the ages of 36 and 50. Another 31 deputies are between 51 and 62 years old.

The youngest MPs in the parliament of the 12th legislative period are 26 years old. It is about Anastasia Nichita and Eugeniu Sinchevici, elected on the list of the  Action and Solidarity Party (PAS). The PAS parliamentary faction contains the youngest deputies - nine in number. Two other lawmakers under the age of 35, Diana Caraman and Olga Cebotari, were elected on behalf of the Electoral patriotic Bloc of the Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova. A young deputy, Alexandru Chitu, was elected on the list of the Democracy at Home Party.

At the same time, nine MPs are over 63 years old. The dean of the current legislature is deputy Vladimir Voronin, elected on behalf of the Electoral Patriotic Bloc of the Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova, who is 84 years old.

According to the norms of the Electoral Code, all people with the right to vote, who have reached, including on the election day, the age of 18, can run for the position of lawmaker in parliament.

Following the elections on September 28, 2025, 55 deputies entered the parliament on the PAS’ list, 26 - on the list of the Electoral Patriotic Bloc of the Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova, 8 - on the Alternative Electoral Bloc’s list and 6 deputies each - on the lists of Our Party and the Democracy at Home Party.
