Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces evacuation operation of citizens from Gaza Strip with international support
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova is currently conducting an evacuation operation for four family members from the Gaza Strip, Palestinian citizens and spouses of Moldovan citizens, who are in the conflict-affected area. The operation is coordinated by the MAE team and the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Tel Aviv, with the support of international partners. Deputy Prime Minister, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi made the statement today.
“These citizens could not be evacuated earlier due to several security objectives. We will make every effort to ensure that they are safely reunited with their loved ones in the Republic of Moldova as soon as possible,” said Popșoi.
He emphasized that the operation demonstrates the commitment of Moldovan diplomacy to stand by its citizens, wherever they may be, and thanked international partners for their support.
“In this regard, I sincerely thank all our diplomats and partner countries for their efforts,” the minister added.
The head of diplomacy stated that the action is part of a series of emergency interventions organized by the MAE to protect Moldovan citizens or those whose family members have ties to Moldova, who are in international crisis areas.
