
47% of funds initially allocated to Road Fund absorbed in first five months
Chisinau, July 11. /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean chaired a meeting of the Road Fund Council, held at the Government. Report was presented on the execution of the budget of the road fund allocation program for national public roads in the first five months of the year, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
It was also discussed about the need to redistribute financial means within the Program, so that the repair works of regional roads in poor condition can be carried out.
According to the report presented by the interim head of the State Road Administration, Sergiu Bejan, in January-May 2023, about 700 million lei were spent on the repair and management of national public roads, which represents an absorption of 47% of the annual amount allocated.
Recean asked the decision-makers to boost the activity of road construction and repair, and to be more demanding to keep them in good condition.
In total, in 2023, 2.2 billion lei from the state budget were allocated to the Road Fund for the maintenance and repair of national public roads.
