Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today visited the Multifunctional Industrial Platform in Ceadar-Lunga, which is currently under construction. The modern production platform covers an area of 5,200 square meters and aims to stimulate the local economy and create between 500 and 1,000 new jobs.

The PM inspected the construction site, noting that the project was one of the most extensive examples of common regional development. “It is the result of effective cooperation between central, regional and local authorities. The platform will become a growth point for the region's economy, contributing to increasing local revenues by attracting new investors,” said the prime minister.

The government allocated 22.5 million lei for the platform’s construction, the authorities of the Autonomous territorial Unity (UTA) of Gagauzia earmarked 11 million lei, and the local authorities allocated 3 million lei. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR), with the support of the Regional Development Agency of UTA Gagauzia. The works are expected to be completed in the spring of 2026.

At the same time, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu discussed with several entrepreneurs from the region, residents of the Business Incubator in the municipality of Ceadar-Lunga. Presently, 22 entrepreneurs are active here, with spaces being occupied at a 100-per cent level.

“We want to provide as many growth and expansion opportunities as possible to the companies already active on the market. Through the Responsible Investments Budget for 2026, capital investments increase to 3 billion lei, the highest level in recent years. We are increasing allocations in support programmes for entrepreneurs and continuing the accelerated modernization of infrastructure and roads, to enhance connectivity, stimulate investments, and bring a real economic impact for companies,” said the prime minister in a dialogue with entrepreneurs.

Today, the bypass road around the Vulcanesti city was opened to traffic - a section of over 8 km, constructed with the support of the European Bank for reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and completed 2 months ahead of the contractual deadline. The Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti-road to the Romanian border is of strategic importance in the south of Moldova, meaning safer, faster connections, and integration into the European transport network.

The PM visited two resident businesses of the Business Incubator, including the textile factory Ghekatex - Group, which has branches in Comrat, Vulcanesti, Basarabeasca and exports garments including to Italy and Australia. The prime minister also spoke with entrepreneur Serghei Col, who manages a small car accessories manufacturing business.

According to the administrator of the Incubator, Galina Topal, more entrepreneurs want to operate here. To increase the production area, an expansion project valued at approximately 2 million lei, funded by the European Union, has already been implemented. This created 66 more jobs in three enterprises, including a garment production, furniture assembly and catering services.

Additionally, with external partners’ support, the Business Incubator is set to receive technical assistance, in order to integrate green energy solutions into its operations and to support, in particular, female entrepreneurs in the region.
