The Joint Control Commission (JCC) today held a meeting with a single item on the agenda: the activity of the JCC Press Center and the unrestricted accreditation of journalists interested in covering the situation in the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.

The delegation of Moldova firmly expressed the need to ensure free access for the media to the JCC’s activities and within the perimeter of the Security Zone. In this regard, the delegates from Chisinau asked the other participants to respect journalists’ right to carry out their work without impediments. The Tiraspol representatives requested a recess, in order to examine the proposals of the Moldovan delegation, and discussions will continue next week.
