Moldovan government creates premises for quick decrease in natural gas tariff
Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) will have the leverages needed to quickly intervene in the revision of the tariffs for the supply of natural gas. An instruction to this effect was approved at a today’s meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, the Moldovagaz stock company will submit to ANRE the application on the adjusting of the regulated prices for the supply of natural gas in a period of two working days after the date of reception from the Energocom stock company of the forecast of the selling price for natural gas for June-December 2023. The National Energy Regulatory Agency is to approve the new tariffs in a term of three days after the application’s reception.
Also, the CSE members established a correction of equity for the enterprises which switch to a provider which works with regulated prices. In this case, the end consumers will be obliged to pay the tariff deviations left. At the same time, starting from 30 June, the end consumers will be able to buy natural gas either on the regulated market or on the free one, but not simultaneously.
According to the instruction, ANRE, at the next adjusting of the tariffs and regulated prices of the stock company North Thermal Power Station (CET-Nord), will mutually compensate the components of correcting of the income regulated related to the thermal energy delivered and the electric energy generated, in equal sizes.
Another provision refers to the lift of the interdiction of export of sugar, established on 1 March 2022. To further ensure Moldova’s food security, the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry will monitor the flow of sugar’s export once in three days and will propose intervention measures, if necessary.
Also, the Commission members allowed the asking for and providing of social leaves with delay, during the entire period of emergency state, to the civil servants with special status of the Interior Ministry, who were to benefit from paternal leave on the period 24 February – 9 June 2022.
