Moldovan President meets with Greek Minister of Culture
President Maia Sandu met with Minister of Culture of the Hellenic Republic Lina Mendoni, on a visit to Chișinău. The discussions focused on deepening cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The head of state underlined the role of culture as a form of resilience for societies, especially in a regional context marked by multiple challenges, contributing to the protection of national values and the strengthening of social cohesion. At the same time, Maia Sandu emphasized that the Republic of Moldova looks with interest at Greece’s experience in protecting and harnessing cultural heritage, a model from which our country has much to learn.
The President welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the relevant ministries of the two states, which will create new opportunities for collaboration in areas such as heritage protection, cultural exchanges, and the development of joint projects. Greece remains an important partner for the Republic of Moldova, both in the accession to the European Union and in many other sectors of bilateral interest.
