Deputy Prime Minister meets with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Moldova
On 17 March, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held a working meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova Yeşim Oruç.
During the discussions, the parties reviewed the priority measures of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in promoting the country’s reintegration policies and Chisinau’s efforts to address the most pressing social, development, infrastructure, and human rights issues within the Security Zone and in the Transnistrian region of the country.
The programs and projects implemented by various UN agencies on both banks of the Dniester River were also discussed, focusing on confidence-building measures, reducing disparities between the two banks, promoting social cohesion, gender equality, protection of vulnerable persons, environmental protection, development of social and medical services, increasing energy efficiency and other related areas.
The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the importance of the activities and initiatives carried out by the UN in consolidating the country’s reintegration policies.
